World Rhino Day

Our symbol is the Flying Rhino - which is why we support non-profit organizations in South Africa who are committed to protecting the remaining, endangered rhinos in South Africa.

One of these organizations is the Rhino Task Team of Protrack. Protrack has 25 years of anti-wildlife experience and is the largest and first private anti-poaching unit in South Africa. The Protrack Rhino Task Team is available 24 hours a day to all national parks in the region, with support from the local SAPS (South African Police Service). It consists of well-trained and armed anti-poaching Rangers. All donations made to the Protrack Rhino Task Team will go directly into the running costs of the team, which will prevent rhinoceros and crime 24 hours a day.

Starkraft has supported the Rhino Task Team in the past, and even now, on the occasion of the World Rhino Day on September 22, we're helping with a donation to help build a new project. Six well-trained anti-poaching Rangers in the Hoedspruit / Limpopo region near the Kruger National Park are to ensure that no more firearms and weapons get stolen. The farms within this area are under constant attack by violent criminals whose aim is to gain weapons, used for killing and de-horning of rhinos. Another aspect of this project is to find illegal workers (mostly from Mozambique) who are incited to poach rhinos and prevent them from de-horning and killing the animals.

These tasks are very dangerous therefore the donation from Starkraft is used to purchase bulletproof vests, well-equipped first-aid boxes, good lights for the vehicles and special flashlights.
