Rhino Private Intensive Protection Zone

Audrey and Azi

One of the none profit organizations in South Africa that Starkraft supports is the Rhino PIPZ (Private Intensive Protection Zone) instituted by Sanwild. The SanWild Wildlife Trust and Wild Africa Conservation Fund, a USA based Section 501©(3) Organization, have established an PIPZ at a secret location in South Africa. This hands-on project is already up and running, but still in its infancy.

Here wounded rhinos receive professional veterinary care and post-operative treatment when necessary, to ensure they stand the best possible chance of making a full recovery. Orphaned rhinos are hand-reared and provided with specialist care to ensure that they can be returned to the wild, to play an active role in the conservation of their species.

Starkraft has previously sponsored funds to ensure electrical fencing is erected around the zone. Unofficially more than 600 rhinos have already died at the hands of poachers in South Africa since 1 January 2017 to date.

Azi and Audrey:
What happened to Azi and his mom is not unique; they survived a recent poaching incident. When Sanwild heard about Azi and his Mamma's plight they secured a purchase agreement with the animal trader so that they can be relocated to an Intensive Protection Zone where they can remain together and live the life they deserve.

Starkraft is supporting this action, especially as 22 September is World Rhino day!
