The 1st European Paper Bag Day

In autumn, it not only rains leaves, but also paper bags. Especially when Starkraft and Zellstoff Pöls together with the municipality Pöls, celebrate the first European Paper Bag Day. This happened on 18 October 2018 - a triumphant advance for the environmentally friendly "paper bag”.
 
Free shopping bags for the whole community
Because paper plays a key role in Pöl's paper and pulp production, both brands have transferred this motto to the municipality of Pöls, to include all local businesses and the consumers living in the village. All companies have received free paper shopping and bread bags - and this for a whole year long. The shopping pleasure literally "contributes" to the protection of the environment in the truest sense of the word!
 
Awareness is on paper
This action was initiated by the international platform "The Paper Bag" - numerous Kraft manufacturers are members. Just like Starkraft and Zellstoff Pöls, they want to motivate people to switch from plastic to paper. This reduces the waste of valuable resources worldwide.
 
Protection of the environment
The motto "performance powered by nature" fits perfectly. The strong and natural packaging paper contains only renewable raw materials from Europe, which minimizes the amount of packaging waste, since paper can be completely recycled. By the way: some shopping bags can carry up to 12 kg in weight - you can hardly carry more anyway.
 
A party for and with paper
Werner Hartmann, Managing Director of Starkraft Pöls, was highly pleased with the various activities around the European Paper Bag Day : "The inhabitants of the municipality of Pöls have shown that they care about the environment and the climate, and that shopping in Pöls is also plastic-free. Together, here in Pöls, we can make an important double contribution to resource-conscious action. On the one hand, regionally through the use of carrier bags and bread bags made available by Starkraft, and on the other, globally, through the production of kraft paper packaging for the world market! "
